In flexographic printing, the quality of the print depends to a large extent on the quality and running results of the anilox roll. The anilox roller is responsible for uniformly transferring a certain amount of ink to the printing plate, which is both a transfer roller for the ink and a metering roller for the ink. Therefore, the anilox roll is called the "heart" of the flexo press by the industry of flexographic printing.

How to equip a flexo press with an anilox roller

When choosing to use an anilox roller, you need to consider the fine layer of the print, the type of substrate, the type of ink, and economic factors. The selected items include the structure of the anilox roll cells, the number of anilox rolls and the surface coating material.

A. The selection of the anilox roller of the ink printing machine generally selects the number of anilox rolls according to the fineness of the printed product. For solid printing, if the number of mesh lines of the anilox roller is too low, the ink supply amount is too large, and the ink is accumulated on the edge of the printing plate to cause ghosting of the edge of the printed product; if the number of the mesh lines is too high, the ink supply amount is insufficient, and the solid density is insufficient. . If the two solid overlays or the printed layout is small, a higher number of screens can be selected.

B.The text and line version can select the appropriate anilox roller according to the size of the text and the fineness of the lines. For the printing of color screen printing, the number of screen lines of the anilox roller is determined according to the number of lines of the printing product itself. Practice has proved that in order to obtain superior quality printing, the number of mesh lines of the anilox roller and the number of dot lines of the printing plate are maintained at a ratio of about 4:1.

C.In the case of ink printing, an anilox roll of 600-angle cells is usually used, which is easy to release the ink. The ceramic anilox roll used for glazing should preferably use 300 horns, which is more suitable for conveying viscous varnish with higher viscosity. For the two-roller squeegee system, the 300-corner anilox roller works well when printing on the ground, lines and text.
